Band Bio - Rob
Drums - Vocals

Quote by Rob taken from Modern Drummer: "I went to Dayton with musical motivations and goals. But when you go out into the big world, as any adult knows, you're in for a lot of disillusionment. So while I was there I did a lot of other things to so I could eat...When I came back from there, I was disillusioned basically about the music business. I decided I would be a semi-pro musician for my own entertainment, would play music that I liked to play, and wouldn't count on it to make my living. I did other jobs and worked at other things, so I wouldn't have to compromise what I have to do as a drummer. Buddy’s book taught me to stick to my guns, play what I want to play and good things will happen. Before I knew it, I got this great gig with Stranger. It was a grueling audition with many drummers fighting for this gig. I was pretty happy when they picked me."

Influences:

  • Neil Peart – "The moustache and 2112 tells the whole story."
  • Alex Van Halen – "Obviously overshadowed by the whole hair thing and that piano guy in the pit"
  • Animal from the Muppets – " The most the most misunderstood drummer there is. The media portrays this guy as a pounder. While this may be true of some of his early stuff, his recent material demonstrates real maturity. He has an incredible ability to generate the groove."

    Rob’s Tell All

  • Bruce – "He’s a very talented violin player, although he’ll deny it when asked"
  • Jeff - "He’s all smiles on the stage, but he yells and screams at all the practices, when we have them. The last one was about 9 years ago"
  • Matt – "Matt used to be the drummer of Stranger, and I was the lead guitarist. One day we swapped instruments and decided to keep it that way for awhile. We may switch back again someday, who knows?"
  • Brian – "When I first met Brian, he was a sumo wrestler. The boy has lost a lot of weight."

    Endorsements:
Rob plays Pearl drums and uses WD40 pedal lubricant. He would like to thank all of the rich parents who bought their kids expensive drum sets and found they couldn’t play. p.s. He could use a new snare.
